The Liberal Party has hundreds of thousands of members; in this Leadership race, each candidate must do his or her best to convince everyone of those members that he or she will make the best Leader. If that candidate wins but has a minority doubting that candidate's ability to lead, then the candidate has lost. The interests of the Liberal members, from the youth, to the women, and to the senior citizen's, have been addressed by Gerard and they will continue to be addressed until he has past the respective policies concerning those groups on the floor of Parliament.

In every major change in history, it was never the old gaurd or senior members who inacted it; the change always came from the youthful and visionary. Gerard Kennedy is one of the youngest candidates in the Leadership contest for the Liberal Party of Canada, and he brings the impedus of change with his youthful perspective and vision for Canada. Change, because it is an attribute of the fresh and sceptical youth, is sought by Kennedy in the youth of the Party and of Canada. Gerard has aimed at the youth and is listening to their voices, his campaign has launched www.generationkennedy.ca a website solely for providing a place for discussion of innovative ideas.

The change of the Liberal Party will occur with a new generation; for that change Gerard Kennedy has reiterated his stance, he announced that the "Youth are the driving force in reshaping the Liberal Party. They represent the future of Canada."

Of Canada at present, there is a grotesque and just plain wrong tragedy affecting women. In employment all over Canada women are getting paid less then their male counterparts. This offence is archaic reminents of the patriachal society that ruled over Canada and the World years ago. That was then, this is now; women are equal and they should be treated in kind. Gerard witnessed this degradation and proposes a policy for female equality in wage earnings. By such a policy, women will have the salaries and wages they deserve; furthermore by giving women the wages they deserve employment opportunities will be more competitive, strengthening the Canadian economy.

Gerard Kennedy in an announcement for a renewed push for female equality stated,"Increasing the economic success of women depends on three key areas: childcare, taxation and the need for collaboration among business, labour and government. The combination of results-oriented social policies with smart economic initiatives is the means to creating a new Canadian advantage in global competition."

Canada had been governed by the Liberal Party for most of the 20th century and in that time, especially in the latter years the Party changed. A main reason for losing the last election was the Liberal Party lost touch with what liberal actually meant. The senior citizens of the Liberal Party, the Liberal members who experienced the Liberalism of Mackenzie King, Pearson, and Trudeau; those members remember the Liberalism that contributed to Canada's success, not just as a nation, but more importantly, as a society. A policy, but of a principle of Gerard Kennedy's is to return the Liberal Party into being liberal. To bring the practical party policies back in sync with the traditional liberal ideology.

Gerard Kennedy has a voice for everyone in the Liberal Party; be it for the youth, women, or senior citizen's; but it is not because he has focused policies and practices aimed at each group that he will make the best Leader; it is because these policies taken together, with his other proposals, illustrate a vision representative of everyone, that Gerard Kennedy will make the best Leader of the Liberal Party.
